Gigaset E720HX, handset (grey / black)The Gigaset E720HX is the test winner in connect (2/2021) with the overall rating VERY GOOD!
"In any case, the phone offers advantages that even younger users shouldn't complain about: clear menu navigation, SMS support and Bluetooth connection to headsets or the home PC. But here, too, the Gigaset developers are bridging the gap to the needs of more mature customers: instead of proven hearing aid compatibility, the device's software offers support for Bluetooth connections to specific hearing aids."
Flexible: thanks to IP technology.
Digital and internet-based, that's how telephoning works today. With the new "Voice over IP" telephone standard, you benefit from numerous advantages, such as excellent sound quality in HD, three phone numbers per connection and the option of holding several calls at the same time. With the cordless Gigaset HX Universal handsets, you can fully enjoy all the advantages of the new technology. Compatible with all DECT/CAT-iq-enabled routers, such as FRITZ!Box or Telekom Speedport, they can be used in a variety of ways and are retained even if the router is replaced.
Secure: call protection that can do more.
Much more than a conventional blocked number list (blacklist): With the Gigaset E720HX, you can determine that the display lights up green for known callers - this way, trustworthy people can be identified at a glance. To do this, simply enter these people in the internal phone book and activate the “serious caller” service help in the menu.
Or you can opt for even stricter call protection and only let known callers through from the outset (whitelist).
A special feature of the Gigaset E720 family is direct dialing for emergencies: you can specify up to 15 contacts that are automatically put through to you when you receive a call (protected by a PIN). You can then talk to these callers using your handset's speakerphone without having to answer the call yourself.
Intelligent: the Bluetooth hearing aid connection.
Look forward to more freedom when making phone calls: With this phone, you can answer calls directly on the hearing aid. Because Gigaset E720HX handsets enable the convenient integration of modern hearing aids thanks to Bluetooth 4.2. This makes telephoning even more fun and is also really practical: you have your hands free and can enjoy crystal-clear voice transmission.
To use the microphone function, the handset should be nearby.
The Gigaset E720HX is compatible with hearing aids from Phonak, Unitron, Hansaton and possibly other manufacturers whose devices support Bluetooth with the HSP and HFP protocols.
Practical: the extra volume button.
In some situations it may not be loud enough. You can choose between five levels for the handset volume. If that's not enough, simply double the level with the extra volume button on the side - and only for the current call, so that a subsequent user of the phone is not startled. As with many Gigaset phones, you can also set two sound profiles on the Gigaset E720HX to emphasize high or low frequencies to support your personal hearing ability.
Great: the display magnifier function.
The Gigaset E720HX phone for seniors offers you a high-contrast, large color display with an enlargement function for display texts. For example, the name just selected from the address book is automatically enlarged and highlighted in orange. If the name is wider than the display when enlarged, it will appear as a scrolling text band. The digits entered are also extra large on this color background in dialing mode. And in difficult lighting conditions? Thanks to the lighting, you can read everything perfectly.
Reassuring: the SOS function.
You can save particularly important phone numbers on the four direct dialing keys and dial them with just one push of a button. The direct selection button A also serves as a special emergency call button and can be assigned an SOS function. You can store up to four SOS numbers on this button at the same time, for example from relatives or neighbors.
And this is how the emergency call function works:
1. After triggering the SOS function (direct selection button A), all four stored numbers are called one after the other. And that up to three times in a row – until someone picks up.
2. When you pick up, the called party hears an emergency call text - either a standard text or a message you have recorded.
3. If the called party then presses the 5 key, he can speak to you personally.
Convenient: the number and name announcement.
With the Gigaset E720HX you always have full control and when dialing you can confirm the number keys you have pressed by reading them out. The number is also announced for an incoming call if the caller is stored in your phone book. Or even more practical: the name of the caller is announced. To do this, simply assign a voice recording of the name to the phone book entry.
Efficient: short distances to the phone.
With the Gigaset E720HX, you always have your phone to hand where you need it: Because you no longer need a base station, the handset registers wirelessly directly with the DECT base of your Internet router. So you can set up the E720HX anywhere and flexibly in your home. And you can also register other HX handsets on the router or a Gigaset base station, for example for the bedroom, kitchen, hallway or workshop.
