Akasa thermal pads are a real alternative to traditional thermal grease in many applications. The Themal pads offer some advantages over liquid or viscous materials. Thus, the two pads can be cut easily even to the required size, the uncertainty when applying paste or smearing during the smoothing omitted. In addition, the Akasa pads are easily self-adhesive and usually initially hold themselves in the previously assigned position.
Of course, the fixation in the further course of assembly can not be completely dispensed with, since heat source, thermal pad and heatsink (or the heat delivery surface) should come into contact with as large a surface area as possible in order to ensure optimum heat transfer.
