Equipped with the 7nm RDNA 2 architecture, the AMD Radeon Pro W6600 Graphics Card is engineered for 3D graphics rendering, video effects, and VR content production. The Radeon PRO W6600 also introduces real-time raytracing and the AMD Infinity Cache. Packing 1792 stream processors linked to 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM with 224 GB/s memory bandwidth and 10.4 TFLOPS of peak single-precision computation performance, the Radeon Pro W6600 can fully leverage APIs, such as OpenCL, OpenGL, and Vulkan to accelerate graphics rendering and computationally intensive video effects.
The front panel of the card features four DisplayPort 1.4 outputs. This graphics card support AMD Eyefinity technology for multi-display support. To keep this card cool, AMD implemented a blower-style cooler. By using a radial fan, this system forces air over the components and exhausts it out through the front of the card. This compact cooling solution is ideal for configurations involving tight spacing between components, crucial in smaller enclosures.
RDNA 2 Architecture
Engineered for high performance and power efficiency, RDNA 2 is the architecture powering AMD's 7nm gaming CPU, delivering up to 94% faster performance over the previous generation GCN architecture. Equipped with GDDR6 memory and featuring PCIe 4.0 support, RDNA 2 architecture is ready for the next-gen of games.
Real-Time Hardware Raytracing
The AMD RDNA 2 Compute Unit now features the implementation of a high-performance raytracing acceleration architecture known as the Ray Accelerator. This specialized hardware handles the intersection of rays directly on the AMD Radeon PRO W6600 for accelerated hardware raytracing.
Architecture and Engineering Workloads
AEC software is typically CPU dependent, but some software is embracing GPU acceleration. This typically reserved for compute heavy tasks like photogrammetry and real-time rendering. The Radeon PRO W6600 offers the performance needed to run those tasks.
Design and Manufacturing Workloads
The AMD Radeon PRO W6600 offers extensive support and software certifications for many design and manufacturing workloads. The main benefits of this affordable, medium workload graphics card is its ability to handle a broad range of common manufacturing tasks while balancing superior multitasking capabilities. It's packed with high-speed memory, compute performance, and an improved graphics architecture for increased workflow efficiencies.
Media and Entertainment Workloads
The M&E industry has embraced real-time raytracing, and while this is critical to many workflows, the demand for increased video editing and modelling performance has accelerated. The Radeon PRO W6600 brings accelerated hardware raytracing, but also improves other tasks for a balanced approach to common M&E workloads. The Radeon PRO W6600 offers advanced 8K Ultra-HD HDR support, video encoding, and decoding acceleration, along with performance for 3D modeling workloads.
