Smart scales not only measure body mass, but also calculate what it consists of.
The principle of operation: when stepping on the scale with bare feet, a weak, imperceptible and harmless electric current is transmitted through the electrodes, and with the help of bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), the composition of the weighing body is measured (such indicators as body fat, bone and muscle mass, water content in the body etc.).
The scale is connected to a smartphone so that you can conveniently track and analyze your results and those of other household members in the app. Based on your specific indicators, the app provides useful recommendations (calories, diet, exercise, etc.).
Your weight fluctuates daily, so when monitoring it, it's best to follow trends: whether your weight is increasing or decreasing, whether it's being kept constant, how the ratio of muscle to fat mass fluctuates, whether there is fluid accumulation in the body, etc. Smart apps make this task easier by helping to measure weight changes over time.
Smart scales are especially useful for sportsmen, dieters and anyone who cares about their health.
The scale can also be adapted without smart functions (without an app or without using BIA - for example, when wearing socks), then it will only show body weight, like a simple bathroom scale.

Basic Measurements:
Body mass index (BMI) is calculated based on your weight and height entered by you. It tells you your ideal weight and gives recommendations on how to reach or maintain it.
Calories. It calculates your basal metabolic rate (BMR) and the amount of calories your body needs per day.
Body fat weight and percentage. When combined with other indicators, this data helps to assess whether junk fat is being lost or whether weight is being lost, for example due to loss of fluid or muscle mass.
Visceral fat index refers to the accumulation of internal fat in your body.
Muscle mass. This is a relevant indicator for those who want to lose weight and strengthen muscles. A lot of exercise can lead to weight gain: after measuring your muscle mass, you will know whether the weight gain is due to an increase in muscle mass, or if you need to change your training or diet.
Bone mass. These readings can help identify bone problems (such as osteoporosis over time due to very low bone mass) and prevent them through dietary adjustments and supplements.
The percentage of water in your body. This indicator will help to assess whether the body does not accumulate too much fluid, or vice versa, there is a lack of it, because dehydration is not always manifested by thirst. Adequate water intake supports the body's tendency to burn excess fat.
Assessment of general physical condition, metabolic age and recommendations.
Notes:
For safety and accuracy reasons, the smart scale is not recommended for pregnant women or people using a pacemaker or defibrillator.
Frequent weighing is not recommended for individuals with eating disorders.
If you have any questions or concerns about your weight or using a smart scale, talk to your doctor.
