The farmer has installed a silo that she fills with healthy feed for the cows and pigs. Once they have finished the feed in the trough, the farmer releases more feed from the silo and fills the trough using the wheelbarrow. The Golden Retriever helps out and is rewarded with a bone.

You can often see large feed silos on farms. The feed for the animals is stored in tower-like structures. These structures keep the feed fresh and clean. The feed silo also protects the feed from hungry mice and rats that would otherwise keep nibbling enthusiastically at the bags of feed. The farmer fills the silo from the top until it’s full. To take feed out, he opens a hatch at the bottom of the silo using a lever and empties the feed directly into the trough when required.

Fun fact Grass, maize, clover and grain are stored in a feed silo. They remain fresh inside for a long time.

MATERIALS AND SAFETY

The combination of PVC and Hexamoll® DINCH® ensures that that the final product will be protected against bad weather and extreme temperatures. Schleich complies with international toy regulations and US Federal laws that ban the use of phthalates in children’s toys by only using products from companies that supply laboratory reports concerning the quality of their processes and materials. Therefore, your Schleich figures will last longer, wear better, and are safer for your children.

The CE label on Schleich toys certifies that the item complies with the relevant European regulations (EN71). Alongside the international standard IS0 8124, Schleich also meets country-specific regulations for North America, Japan and many other nations. Some of the conditions set by other countries and markets are even stricter than the European standard. Every single Schleich product meets these conditions and requirements, as well.
