The 17-35 mm f/2.8-4 Di OSD (model A037) is a compact and light ultra-wide-angle zoom lens that offers excellent image quality. Specially optimised glass allows thorough correction of the chromatic aberrations that occur more regularly with ultra-wide-angle lenses. The imaging performance is comparable with professional lenses in its sharpness and contrast. Because of the zoom range of 35 mm standard wide-angle up to 17 mm ultra wide-angle, the 17-35 mm is ideal for journalism and landscape photography, but is also suitable for a variety of other photography situations. The lens is very convenient, with a length of just 90 mm, a diameter of 83.6 mm and a weight of just 460 g. The optical construction has also been optimised and the overall imaging performance has been maximised. The BBAR coating (broad-band anti-reflection) results in high transmission and prevents ghost images and scattered light.

The autofocus motor has a newly developed OSD module (Optimised Silent Drive) that allows silent focusing.
